GRZEGORZ PAWLAK
Polish reader, theatrical and voice actor.
Has been associated with the scene since his highschool. He started in school cabaret Pingwinek. He graduated from the National Theatre School in Wroclaw in 1987.
After graduating from drama school moved to Opole, where he started working in the Jan Kochanowski Theatre. At the stage of the theater in Opole he portrayed the characters including Papkin in “Zemsta” or Sobstyl in Bolesław Leśmian’s “Zdziczenie obyczajów pośmiertnych”. Year 1992 passed on the moving to Lodz and working with the Teatr Powszechny, with which he’s been associated until today. At its stage he plays in, inter alia, “Kiedy kota nie ma” by Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke, “Opowieści o zwyczajnym szaleństwie” by Zelenka, and also takes part in numerous musical productions and cabarets. In 2010, he began working with the Teatr Kamienica in Warsaw. Starred, among others “Syzyfowe prace” by Paweł Komorowski, “Pierwszy milion” by Waldemar Wild. He currently plays a major role on the stage of the Teatr Powszechny in Lodz in the play of Liz Lochhead “Dobre rzeczy”, directed by Justyna Celeda.
A separate chapter in the career of Grzegorz Pawlak is work with a microphone. At the beginning he was working at Radio Opole, where he broadcased and read ads. In Lodz he’s working with both local and nationwide radio stations: Radio Zet, RMF FM and Trójka. He works as reader of subtitles in movies, game shows and television programs. For several years he’s been the "voice" of Polsat and Radio Wawa. He has been also involved in the production of audio books.
Often gives a voice to the animated characters. His voice has Skipper from “Madagascar” Tigger from “Winnie the Pooh” or Gutsy Smurf in Smurfs 3D. You can hear him in such productions as “Jeż Jerzy”, “Star Wars”, Jack the Giants Slayer, and the games: “Tomb Raider”, “The Witcher”, “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings”.
Grzegorz Pawlak is also a translator of songs by Tom Waits, the author of music and performer. He also wrote essays which were presented in "Urywki z rozrywki" aired on Polish Radio Program III. His sense of humor is proved by two sentences on his website:
